Scaffoldmart's Super Premium 7 ft Solid Aluminum Walkboard

 

Scaffoldmart carries an all aluminum walkboard that is super nice.  Some of the superior features that make this better than similar but lesser boards are:

 

Most every solid aluminum board has tri-shaped ribs on top as does ours.  The difference being a tool is used as the extrusion exits the mold while it's still hot that indents the tri-rib adding a series of traction grooves all along the board for absolutely incredibly superior boot traction.  This feature should not be taken lightly when using scaffolding when it's wet from rain or first thing in the morning with dew on the ground.

 

Main I-beams are a full 2 mm thick.  The upper I-beam radius is extremely generous.  More so than any other board we have seen or tested.  This adds incredible support for the top aluminum layer that you actually walk on. 

 

Most boards have 2 9.5 in wide extrusions that are used to make a 19.25 in board.   Most all are bolted together in the middle.  Ours on the other hand has exclusive grooves top and bottom that are formed integrally within the extrusion itself.  Thus when the two extrusions are placed together they "lock" together and this adds tremendous strength that far exceeds merely bolting it together with 2 or 3 bolts.  Twisting resistiveness is vastly increased and the product is just plain a better stronger product because of it. 

 

Hooks are offset and larger than competitive boards just as with our super premium Alum/ply boards.   Width is increased to 38.3 mm from 35.7 mm and our upper and lower lip where the bolt attaches is thickened from competitive brands from 4.76 mm to a full 6 mm thickness.  Combine this thicker lip with a wider hook and it becomes obvious this leads to much higher strength.  In plain English our hooks are just larger and stronger.........bolts are zinc plated and oiled prior to shipment.  Product is steel banded in pairs with rubber edge guards and bubble shrink wrapped to protect during shipment.  

 

Wind latches are bolted on each end for windy conditions.

 

Rated at a conservative 75 lb/sq/ft.
